R.P.R.?in Glass Furnace
When the refractory lining of a glass furnace needs repairing, then with a minimum of disturbance of the regular running
of the plant, a hot repair is the only suitable remedy.
FIB-Services has developed a special process called Reactive Projection Repair (RPR? to deal with such a situation.
It is based on a new refractory monolithic lining to restore the initial profile.
This formation is the result of an exothermic chemical reaction of a mixture projected on to the surface to be repaired.
This reactive mixture which contains mainly a refractory phase undergoes an kids surpa skytop exothermic reaction forming a ceramic bonding
phase for both material the initial brick masonry and the refractory phase of the repair product.
This process is principally used for repairing:
- Crown
- Back and front walls
- Doghouse
- Fume exhaust
- Burner block
- Superstructure
Advantages:
Owing to its particular grain size distribution and bonding phase system, the FIB-Services repair products exhibit interesting properties :
- High bulk density
- Low porosity
- High thermal conductivity
- High mechanical strength
- Excellent adhesion to the initial masonry owing to the good thermal compatibility between the old and the new material
